Day 10 - Ranthambore to Aagman India Camp

After breakfast we visited with students at a primary school.

We visited with students in their classroom.  They were excited to show us their workbooks and speak English with us.

Then we walked through the village

The cattle kept for milking.

Cow patties - manure mixed with straw, dried, and used for fire.

We've seen them in all the villages along the way.

The painting on the wall is a wedding invitation - the entire village is invited

We were invited to tea and cookies at a villager's home. The family has 5 acres and grows vegetables.

The husband and one of their sons

The wife and son

The wife prepared the chai tea outside. After tea, she gave us a tour of their home.  We removed our shoes before entering.  The home was small and very clean and well organized.

Then we visited DHONK, a women's cooperative.  The women produce and sell crafts.

The women prepared us lunch and we dined together

We sat next to Akeela at lunch and purchased some of her products.  Lovely lady, she spoke limited English and we spoke even less Hindi.

Then we drove to our next location. Passing through villages.

The shoe cobbler

The barber shop

We arrived at our camp, our home for the night, individual permanent tents with electricity and private bathrooms

Before dinner, the local farmers provided entertainment.  The farmers chant and dance in thanks for the harvest.

And lessons!

Another great and interesting day in India.
