Truro to Parrsboro

Beautiful drive - we took the road along the coast.  First stop was the cheese factory - tasted all types of Gouda.

Then a stop at Five Islands Provincial Park to check out the tide!  The tide was coming in.

Windy out on the beach

Stopped for lunch at Diane's for Fried Clams - local clams

We were bad - fried clams and home style fries - good thing we ordered off the Senior's Menu - they were good!

Then another stop to look at the tide, and some exercise playing yard games

Played by the cliffs

Then we were off to the mouth of the Diligent River - the tide here has as much current as all the rivers in the world, best time to see this current is at mid tide.  We did it.

Looking across Minas Basin at Cape Split - we hiked over there on July 1

The harbor in Parrsboro - low tide

We won't be here to take pictures at high tide, we could go out at 1:30 in the morning, not, and we will  be long gone by 1:00 pm tomorrow.

Watching the tide go out

Our B & B for tonight

Tomorrow -  Prince Edward Island.

Truro, Nova Scotia - The Tidal Bore

The Tidal Bore was at 11:50 AM, we arrived an hour early, didn't want to miss it, we waited and waited - the Bore can come 15 minutes early!  It only lasts a few minutes.

Nothing was happening, windy, tide was coming in ever so slowly up the river

And then - a wall of water rounded the bend heading our way

In less than 40 minutes the tide was in

Another day enjoying the Fundy Tides.

Tomorrow we move on to Parrsboro, Nova Scotia - and yes - 2 more tide events to see.
