Halifax - Peggy's Cove

Drove to Peggy's Cove, nicer than Lunenburg, but quite crowded.

We walked around the grounds, stayed off the black rocks - slippery

Interesting plants - Pitcher Plant - eats bugs

The pitchers at the stem that collect water and snag the bugs

Pirate

Headed back to Halifax, lunch, returned the rental car and then we rode the ferries.  Took one ferry to Dartmouth, got off and walked 2 miles to the other ferry at Woodside and rode back to Halifax

Busy harbor

Cape Breton to Halifax

Left the St Ann Motel

Final view of St Ann Bay

Long drive to Halifax,  about half way to Halifax we decided to continue on to Lunenburg - World Heritage site.

A rusty boat at the waterfront

The lower jawbone of a fin whale - 17 feet high

House from 1793 - we took the free tour

Lunch at Kate's - lentil soup

View of Lunenburg from the docks

Back in Halifax, tomorrow we head to Pier 21 to tour the Canada Immigration Museum

We have the rental car until 5:30 pm tomorrow so we may take a drive to Peggy's Cove - home to the most photographed lighthouse in Canada, a 30 minute drive.

Or just stay in Halifax, walk around the harbor area, fill up the gas tank and return the car!
