Salida, Alamosa, Chama, Farmington - August 14

Beautiful drive.  Arrived at Arlene's in Alamosa at 10:00 and headed for Chama, NM - lunch at the High County Restaurant - great Green Chili.

Cumbres Pass was awesome, we enjoyed waiting for the cattle to mosey off the highway.

Stopped at Our Lady of the Desert Monastery along the way.  Arrived in Farmington, checked into hotel and headed to Si Señor for dinner - great Mexican food.

Tomorrow it's the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and maybe a Navajo Taco along the way!

 

Tampa, Denver, Woodland Park to Salida - August 9 to August 13

Leaving Florida

Stayed in Denver for 2 nights at Laura's house.

Woodland Park - stayed with Ollie (the dog), Kathy and Tom for 2 nights.

On our way from Woodland Park to Salida we stopped at Wilkerson Pass (elev. 7,509)

Staying in Salida tonight, driving to Alamosa tomorrow to pick up Arlene, then continuing on to Farmington, New Mexico via Chama.
