Farmington, NM to South Rim Grand Canyon - August 15

Leisurely start to the day, breakfast at hotel and then a quick stop at Starbucks.

Stopped for lunch in Tuba City, our old favorite for Navajo Tacos was long gone, so we dined at the Hogan.  Excellent mutton stew and so so Navajo Taco.

And then we checked into our adjoining cabins, Arlene's home for next 4 days and Marilyn's and mine for 2 nights.  The entry to Arlene's cabin, our's around to the left.

And we saw California condors gliding over the canyon.

Salida, Alamosa, Chama, Farmington - August 14

Beautiful drive.  Arrived at Arlene's in Alamosa at 10:00 and headed for Chama, NM - lunch at the High County Restaurant - great Green Chili.

Cumbres Pass was awesome, we enjoyed waiting for the cattle to mosey off the highway.

Stopped at Our Lady of the Desert Monastery along the way.  Arrived in Farmington, checked into hotel and headed to Si Señor for dinner - great Mexican food.

Tomorrow it's the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and maybe a Navajo Taco along the way!
