Parrsboro, Nova Scotia to Summerside, Prince Edward Island

Nice start to the day -

Also scrambled eggs with herbs and toast

We drive to Cape d'Or - our final Bay of Fundy tide phenomenon - the Dory Rips - best viewed at mid tide and we were there at mid tide!

A short walk down

Back to the car

The beach at Cape Chignecto Provincial Park

High tide at Joggins Fossil Cliff - A Unesco World Heritage Site

We toured the exhibits and then went on the tour at 3:00 pm.  The tide was going out and we were able to get on the beach and see some fossils.

Left Nova Scotia, drove a short stretch in New Brunswick, over the 8 mile Confederation Bridge and now, we are on Prince Edward Island.  Staying 3 nights on PEI, the first 2 nights in Summerside at the Summerside B & B.

Tomorrow is Anne of Green Gables day - we plan to visit some Anne of Green Gable sites.

Truro to Parrsboro

Beautiful drive - we took the road along the coast.  First stop was the cheese factory - tasted all types of Gouda.

Then a stop at Five Islands Provincial Park to check out the tide!  The tide was coming in.

Windy out on the beach

Stopped for lunch at Diane's for Fried Clams - local clams

We were bad - fried clams and home style fries - good thing we ordered off the Senior's Menu - they were good!

Then another stop to look at the tide, and some exercise playing yard games

Played by the cliffs

Then we were off to the mouth of the Diligent River - the tide here has as much current as all the rivers in the world, best time to see this current is at mid tide.  We did it.

Looking across Minas Basin at Cape Split - we hiked over there on July 1

The harbor in Parrsboro - low tide

We won't be here to take pictures at high tide, we could go out at 1:30 in the morning, not, and we will  be long gone by 1:00 pm tomorrow.

Watching the tide go out

Our B & B for tonight

Tomorrow -  Prince Edward Island.
