Georgetown, Prince Edward Island to South Haven, Nova Scotia

Breakfast at the Georgetown Inn

Tea, oatmeal with preserves, and toast - Marilyn

Short walk around Georgetown, we checked out the Confederation Trail - bike/walking path on former railway track, crosses Prince Edward Island

View from the trail

Then we drove to the ferry and waited to board, ferry was running 1/2 hour late - windy out there

We left the car and went inside the cafe - live music - they did make an announcement for everyone to return to your vehicles

Finally on board, we were in the first row of cars to board, the last cars off, and our car was on the 3rd level down (the lowest level) - the ferry had 5 levels, 3 for vehicles and 2 levels to hang out.

Hanging out on the top

Live entertainment for the ferry crossing

Stacks of lobster traps on the pier - the 2 month lobster season is over

Arrived at our home for the next 4 nights - St. Ann's Motel

View out the back window of our motel room - looking out on St. Ann's Bay

Tomorrow - The Cabot Trail - scenic highway

Prince Edward Island - Summerside to Georgetown

We left Summerside and took the scenic route to Georgetown.

Our first stop was Robinson Island, Price Edward Island National Park.  Our park pass from yesterday was still good for today's entry into the National Parks.

Our first hike/walk in the park was the Robinson Island Trail - a circle - bikes go one direction and walkers the other direction.

Surf was up

Creatures on the beach

Our second (short walk) - The Bubbling Springs

Took us past an old cemetery

And past ponds

Time to move on.  We went to Point Prim for lunch - at the Lobster House - definitely an out of the way place

Chilly day, we ate inside

Lobster roll for me

The tiny crab roll for Marilyn

Strawberry season, we split strawberry shortcake

Walked over to the lighthouse adjacent to the restaurant

Off to Georgetown, staying the Georgetown Inn - 8 rooms in the Inn - we are on the 3rd floor - upper right

Checked in and walked down to the harbor

Lobster season is over - traps are all on the dock

Tomorrow we catch the ferry back to Nova Scotia and then drive to Cape Breton.
