Day 9 - Ranthambore National Park

After an early breakfast, 5:30, we boarded the canter, a safari truck, and headed to the Park.

We were fortunate to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in the morning and in the afternoon.






We saw crocodile, sambar, Langur monkeys, spotted deer, wild boar, kingfisher . . .

We came back to the hotel about 10:30, took a shower to get the dust off.  Lunch at 12:30.  Then at 2:30  we headed out for a second expedition.

We gave 3 ladies a ride from the Fort back to town.  They sang songs for us and then we sang a song for them.


Our Naturalist Guide -thanks to him we saw the tigers today. 



A terrific day.  Tomorrow we go to a village and meet the locals.  Also, we are going to a school to meet the school  children and give them the 3 soccer balls we brought along with us.

Day 8 - Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park

We left Jaipur and drove to Ranthambore National Park near the town of Sawai Madhopur. 

We checked into our hotel - Nahargarth Hotel - awesome

We checked in and had lunch, nice Indian buffet.  The we took a tour of Ranthanbore Fort, a fortress built about 1,000 years ago, it sits in the middle of the Ranthambore sanctuary.

We drove in an open air vehicle, spotted a crocodile along the way


And lots of monkeys


Arrived at the fort and walked up the hill



Lots of school children were touring the Fort








Back to hotel, watched a movie on Indian Tigers and then dinner.

Tomorrow, an early day, onto the jeeps at 6:30 to look for animals in the Park.
