RAGBRAI July 21-27, 2013

Registered for RAGBRAI today. Now I wait for the lottery results to be posted May 1. This year's ride is 406.5 miles with 17,410 feet total elevation climb. Starting out in Council Bluffs, Iowa where I hope to dip my rear tire in Big Mo (the Missouri River) and ending in Fort Madison, Iowa where I hope to dip my front tire in the Mississippi River and have a birthday beer (July 27). Day 1, Councill Bluffs to Harlan, is 56.8 miles. Day 2, Harlan to Perry, will be the toughest at 83 miles. Day 3, Perry to Des Moines, is 49.9 miles. Day 4, Des Moines to Knoxville, is 49.9 miles. Day 5, Knoxville to Oskaloosa, is 52 miles. Day 6, Oskaloosa to Fairfield, is 52 miles. Day 7, Fairfield to Fort. Madison, is 63 miles. Going with the SAG Wagon (Marilyn and Subaru) and staying in hotels along the route, like last year. Nice bed and shower is sweet after riding in the heat.
